Welcome to the Protocols and Computer Networks Course Web Services tutorial !
The term "Web Services" is one of the most often heard "buzzwords" in information and communication technologies today. As such, numerous online and other resources exist, but it can be difficult to find a truly simple introductionary one. The goal of this tutorial is to be just that - a simple newcomer's introduction to the field of web services.
The tutorial has several sections. In the Introduction section, you will learn the origins of web services, why they exist and where they came from. The Building Blocks section will provide introduction to the core technologies and protocols used in constructing web services. In the Demonstration section, you will be able to download a demo application written as part of this project, which serves as a client for a public web service. The References section includes links and references to available resources which were used to construct the tutorial and can serve as further reading material.
This tutorial was built by Tomer Meron, as part of the requirements of the Protocols and Computer Networks Course, given by Dr. Debby Koren in the Tel Aviv university.
