ADSL2


The ADSL2 standard G.992.3 (and G.992.4 - the splitterless  ADSL2 'lite' version) was approved in October 02 by the ITU, and is looking like a promising next-generation ADSL technology.  The basic form of ADSL2 over POTS is also referred to as ADSL2 annex A, or simply ADSL2,  and was one of its earliest member of the family. We now discuss the new characteristics and main benefits of ADSL2 over its predecessor - the ADSL:

 

As mentioned above the ADSL2 standard has a quite a few annexes.  One of the more important one is Annex L, which will be described in the following sections.  The table below summarizes all of the annexes to date.
