OVERVIEW
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a communication protocol that
became an industry standard for managing and controlling networks. SNMP
was first defined by the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) in 1989,
and was widely extended since. SNMP is applicable to TCP/IP networks, as
well as other types of networks, and allows management of multiple vendors'
networking devices from a single management application.
This Tutorial discusses several aspects of SNMP as of today.
