Modular E1/T1 Access Multiplexer
Supports an Array of Voice and Data Modules in a Low Cost,Flexible Unit

A new modular access unit, the FCD-E1M™ extends the E1/T1 network to the customer premises, enabling carriers and service providers to create a flexible, service-independent access model while offering a competitive and wide service portfolio. The FCD-E1M modular E1/T1 access multiplexer supports a variety of modules from RAD’s popular Megaplex™ E1/T1 access multiplexer. The Megaplex modules allow the FCD-E1M to offer six analog voice channels, four high speed data channels or four ISDN “S” or “U” interfaces.

The FCD-E1M offers carriers the modularity and flexibility of the high-end Megaplex family in a low-cost, modular device. It complements RAD’s multiservice access platform (MAP™) solution, which places a DXC access node in the central office, Megaplex multiplexers at large customer sites, and the FCD-E1M with Megaplex modules at smaller customer sites.

HDSL-Based Modem Offers Extended Range and Higher Speeds
Operates at 4 Mbps over 4-Wire Copper to Distances of up to 3 km (1.9 miles)

The HCD-4 is a 4-wire HDSL modem based on 2B1Q technology that meets the growing demand for bandwidth in the Local Loop and in corporate campus environments. Its Ethernet interface increases the speed of LAN connections to up to 4 Mbps over existing 4-wire infrastructures, to ranges of up to 3 km (1.9 miles). It boosts performance of LAN-to-LAN connections at lower cost than fiber optic modems. The HCD-4 compensates for line impairments, bridge taps and mixed cabling by using advanced equalization, adaptive filtering, echo cancellation and 2B1Q line coding. High immunity to background noise enables transmission of multiple HDSL lines via the same physical cable.

SDH ADM with Grooming and 1/0 Cross Connect

A member of the DXC™ family, the DXC-STM-1™ is a hybrid version of the R-STM-1E™ multiplexer and the DXC digital cross connect, assembled in a single, integrated chassis. The DXC-STM-1 can be deployed in access nodes as a terminal multiplexer or add-drop multiplexer (ADM). It enables expansion of the Local Loop to up to 60 km (37 miles), creating a transmission layer that is fully compatible with SDH networks.

DXC-STM-1 supports a range of SDH network topologies: point-to-point, chain, STM-1 ring/folded ring, STM-4/16 ring and STM-1 ring-star and ring-ring. It features a variety of copper and fiber interfaces, including ISDN, HDSL, n x 56/64 kbps, E1/T1 and E3/T3.
